Every man dreams of building a flying machine, and plumber Colin Furze has done just that with this incredible hoverbike.
Colin has no mechanical engineering qualifications, but does seem to have a knack of overcoming the seemingly impossible – and all from the comfort of his garden shed.

You can watch his first test flight in the video below. OK, he does not fly very far, but his contraption gets off the ground – that much is clear – and it rivals the efforts of some big-budget companies who are trying to achieve the same thing.
He stands up on the hoverbike and operates it from the handlebars. While admitted it is quite difficult to control, it’s still very early days!
