Everyone loves an intriguing map, and this one fits the bill. Each dot shows a population area of 1,000 people or more and as you’d expect, countries like the UK and Germany feature prominently.
Parts of Spain around Madrid and east towards Barcelona, and Italy and northern France also show plenty of feet on the ground.
Meanwhile, the frozen wastes of much of Scandinavia and north Russia is clear to see.
However, some pockets, like an apparent population explosion in Romania are surprising. The answer is because there, many small groups close to one another in mountainous regions, fooling the software into thinking more people are there.
Regardless, it’s an interesting map to waste a few minutes on.
