A smitten man has married his iPhone in a romantic ceremony in Las Vegas.
The groom was so attached to his smartphone he decided the next logical step was to tie the knot so they could become legally wed. And as anything goes in Vegas, that seemed the logical place to do it.
Little Las Vegas Chapel owner Michael Kelly said: “At first it was like what? And then I was like… Alright let’s do it. We don’t really have many people who marry inanimate objects.”
The happy groom was Aaron Chervenak, who drove all the way from Los Angeles across Nevada to Vegas to marry the love of his life, his iPhone. It was not entirely clear which model his “partner” was.
Apparently he did so as a means of sending some sort of message to society.
Kelly explained: “People are so connected to their phones and they live with them all the time. They’re with them 24 hours a day. They go to sleep with their cell phone. They wake up with their cell phone, sometimes it’s the first thing that they check.
“I think he wanted to explore that.”
Perhaps he did. Or perhaps he’s just a little bit odd.
You can watch the whole, moving ceremony here, and we should point out that the marriage will not be legally recognised in Nevada.
Perhaps it would have been more apt, as it’s a phone, to remain engaged?
