A man has been fired from his job at a New Jersey Pork Roll producer after complaints from customers about noxious posterior odours.
After Richard Clem’s was fired from his job, his wife, Luann is suing the employer for discrimination: she claims he was fired for farting too much. Luann, who also works at the Pork Roll company, claims the company president Thomas Dolan complained about Richards flatulence to the company’s owner. Apparently he told Luann “Tell Rich we are getting complaints from visitors who have problems with the odours.” Eventually, he fired Richard Clem on Feb. 28, 2014, according to the suit.
Unfortunately for Richard, he underwent gastric by pass surgery to treat his obesity in 2008 which comes with unfortunate side effects. According to his wife’s law suit he was struck with “extreme gas and uncontrollable diarrhea,” because of the surgery which caused “significant disruption in the workplace”. Therefore she is suing for violation of the American’s with Disabilities Act and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.
The defendent, company’s owner Tom Grieb, told mycentraljersey.com that Richard Clem was asked both the Clem’s to take a pay cut but instead they both quit. “They were never discriminated against,” Grieb told the website. “Even I took a pay cut. He refused and he just walked out. That was the end of it.”
