Jehovah’s Witnesses release homophobic kids film

The Jehovah’s Witnesses might want to re-evaluate their public relations strategy after releasing a homophobic children’s cartoon which attacks gay marriage.

Part of the Caleb and Sophia series, the new video, called One Man One Woman, which is made with cute Pixar-tyle graphics, shows a young girl going home from school and telling her mother that a classmate drew a picture of her family, which happened to involve two mums – a same-sex marriage.

Horrified, Sophia’s mother urges her daughter to go back to school and teach her friend, Carrie, that same-sex marriage is a sin, and that her “mothers” should change or face the wrath of Jehovah’s judgment.

The credits state the video, which is clearly aimed at children, was produced by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, a Jehovah’s Witness organisation.

Gay rights supporters have already made their views clear: “I only hope that this video becomes well circulated so the world can see more into how hateful and bigoted this group is,” one told GayStar News. Another added: “It’s propaganda geared towards children. This is beyond disturbing, but right in line with the type of methods the Watchtower uses.”

So is this homophobic or just a religious viewpoint? You decide by watching the video below.
