See Benji the clown knock dad unconscious

It was no laughing matter when Benji the clown knocked out Ben Garnham at the circus.

He had been invited into the ring by Benji when a stunt went terribly wrong, leaving Mr Garnham out cold on the floor. He was then rather unceremoniously carted out by circus staff.

The 37-year-old was left with a cut head, swollen face, bruises and a nasty headache – and will probably now suffer from coulrophobia, the strange but common fear of clowns.

Mr Garnham’s kids were filming the antics at the Circus Zyair’s show in Blackwood, Wales, on Monday, and the film shows how the clown was attempting a back flip when instead he landed on Mr Garnham’s head.

The self-employed DJ said: “My kids filmed me up on stage tonight not knowing what was about to happen. I’m OK just battered, concussed, bruised and a bit dizzy.

“I’m very angry at the way I was carried off stage before the paramedics even checked to see if I had any major neck or back injuries. I could of been paralysed for all they knew. Thankfully I’ll be OK.

“Thank you to all the well wishers and I’m sorry if I upset anyone or their kids. I hope Benjamin the clown is OK too.”
